Goalkeeping with The Specialist
Southampton Football Club's goalkeeping coach David Coles, approached us to produce a DVD featuring training drills he had devised, that could be used by coaches and 'keeper's.
Being Southampton fans, we were immediately interested by the idea!
We suggested including a documentary featuring first-team goalkeeper Antti Niemi. This would allow the DVD to appeal to more than just coaches and players.
We then went into production of a 2 part DVD, featuring a documentary 'The Art Of Goalkeeping' and a set of drills filmed during actual club training sessions; 'Training with The Specialist'.
As well as interviewing the top three club 'keeper's, we attended several club training sessions and filmed the club's pre-season friendlies at the St Mary's stadium.
As well as conducting all the filming and interviews, we also negotiated with TWI archive to use Premiership footage from Sky TV.
The project didn't finish with the completion of the DVD. We also produced the artwork for a marketing campaign, that saw the DVD launched at a signing session in the club megastore.
