We were commissioned by the Technology Strategy Board to produce an animated scribe for their Future Cities Catapult initiative. They were so impressed that they then asked us to produce another one about the problems of getting innovative ideas off the ground.
We are pleased to announce that the amazing illustrator/animator Emily Harper has rejoined the company. Emily took a couple of years out to gain her PGCE and then teach at a primary school in Kingston, but she’s now decided that her future lies in illustration and we are delighted that she has come back to work for us.
In Spring – Summer 2013 we worked on a project with Hampshire County Council and young people from three areas: in Fareham & Gosport young people worked with Ashcroft Arts Centre to find out about the Royal Navy. In Bordon & East Hampshire the groups worked with the Phoenix Theatre & Arts Centre and Bordon Garrison. In Aldershot & Farnborough they worked with West End Centre and the Queen’s Own Gurkha Logistic Regiment. In total, over 100 young people across the county engaged with the local armed forces and created original films. We were responsible for training and assisting the young people with 5 of the 9 films.
This autumn we were asked by Xero and NWN Blue Squared to film an amazing event in Spitafields to promote the revolutionary software and forward-thinking accountancy firm. As well as creating a promotional animation for the event, we also made a short documentary of the night and edited a number of short case study films.
Joe Cornish is probably the UK’s most respected landscape photographer, so we were ecstatic when LEE Filters asked us to travel to Yorkshire and film Joe in action. We produced 3 short films to showcase LEE’s range of camera filters, with hints and tips from Joe on how to produce the best possible images.
Over the past 18 months we have produced 8 new videos for Radian housing association and we are currently working on 5 more, including videos to promote their EST scheme as well as a series of Tenant DVD guides. The videos use a combination of live footage and animation.
Williams Shipping is a family business trading since 1894, and is one of the world’s leading shipping companies. We are in the process of producing a series of videos that highlights the variety of services they offer. The films will be used on their website and at exhibitions.
Last year Hampshire Music Service commissioned us to document their ambitious Hampshire Welcomes The World project inspired by London 2012. This involved 6 major music events at 5 venues throughout the county and a series of workshops in schools. MoD Animation Project
We are currently working with 5 groups of young people throughout Hampshire, helping them to produce their own animations. The project is being run by Hampshire County Council and is funded by the MOD Community Covenant Grant .Young people from Mill Chase, Bridgemary and the Wavell School are among those we are working with. LEE Filters have earned and kept their reputation as the world’s leading manufacturer of lighting and camera filters by constantly looking ahead and we are excited that they have entrusted us with showcasing their incredible products. Following on from a series of 10 videos for their camera filters we have recently produced a series of masterclass videos around the subject of lighting design for both Theatre and TV/Film. We Have just embarked on a new relationship with marketing and PR specialists Innovatia Marketing and our first joint project was to hit the Solent and produce a high-octane promo video for team building events organisers Aegir Nautical, focussing on their Search & Rescue packages.
Last summer we were commissioned by Parrabbola and the Arts Council to create a short documentary about the incredible Boat Project. Specifically, we focussed on the long weekend that the boat spent in Margate and captured the variety of professional and community arts and music projects that Margate had organised to celebrate the event.
Some amazing news! We have just signed a season-long contract to produce motivational videos for Liverpool FC. It cements our reputation as the go-to company to produce high quality sporting films for some of the biggest clubs in the world.
The Future Cities Catapult is a government initiative that will join business, city governments and academia in a unique collaboration to enable business to develop products and services for the cities of the future. The project is being run by the Technology Strategy Board and they have asked us to produce an engaging animated film to explain the project in an accessible way.
Although we may not share a building with Hampshire Dance anymore we are delighted that we still get to work with them on a regular basis and most recently we have produced a short documentary about their Big Dance Day events and also created a short film for them as part of their 20 year celebration.
We were commissioned to produce a hard-hitting short film for the Safer Portsmouth Partnership and Hampshire Constabulary. It is part of a campaign that aims to reduce alcohol related violence in the night time economy of Portsmouth. The film uses a mix of real footage, re-enactments and animation. The film can now be seen on YouTube and has over 15,000 views.
We have been working closely with the Hampshire County Council Children’s Services team for a number of years now and our latest commission from them was to produce a training and information video about their Keep On Talking scheme, aimed at improving language and communication skills.
The Heritage Lottery Fund has awarded Making Space and Leigh Park Community Association a grant of £50,000 for a two year project to explore and celebrate life on Leigh Park from its early development as a housing estate in the 1940s right up to the present day. We were delighted to be asked to document the project and create a short film that captures the essence of the project. The film was premiered in October 2013
We are delighted to announce that we have been asked to continue working in collaboration with Oyster Design to produce product demonstration videos for General Electric’s innovative new equipment. GE is a global infrastructure, ﬁnance and media company. From everyday light bulbs to fuel cell technology, to cleaner, more efficient jet engines, GE has continually shaped the world with groundbreaking innovations for over 130 years.
My Journey Hampshire is a new inititative aimed at promoting sustainable travel and making it easier to get around Hampshire. We successfully tendered for the opportunity to produce a series of 30 films to assist the programme over the next 3 years.
Creative World saw us working alongside several talented creative young adults as part of a commission from Artswork. As part of the process we trained 6 young adults in all aspects of filmmaking and animation and actively involved them in the planning and direction of the film as well as the filming, editing and design. 2 of the young adults also gained their Gold Arts Award as part of the process. The film charts the progress of the Creative World project, commissioned by Artswork and managed by SPUD Group.
We often run filmmaking workshops for Youth Offenders, NEET groups and other youth groups and our latest workshops saw us working with a NEET group at the fabulous Forest Arts Centre in the New Forest to produce a short film about prejudice and stereotypes.
